|  | FUNDRAISING THINK TANK |  | Fundraising Think Tank - Can you help? As a response to customer demand, Spark of Inspiration would like to offer a new service on our website.
We know how hard it is to think up new ideas to raise cash for organisations and how difficult it is to keep people motivated and keen to participate in initiatives. With your support we'd like to be able to pool some of your ideas together so that other people can benefit from them too.
The sort of thing that we're after are those that don't have a large initial cost, are great fun to participate in and raise lots of support and most importantly, CASH!! Tall order - we know but we're also certain that lots of you out there will have come up with exactly that time after time.
The first one we'd like to share, just to get the ball rolling is one that has been a great success for a number of local school and nursery groups:
THE POT OF GOLD
What you will need:
A very large money type bottle or large sweet tub; gold wrapping paper; empty shoe box; supply of biros; draw tickets.
After slitting a hole in the top of the shoe box, cover both the shoe box and the bottle / jar with the gold paper. Create some tickets that allow people to write a name and contact details on them and you're ready to raise some serious money.
At your next fundraising event (Christmas fair etc.) - have somebody walk around with the bottle requesting individuals to pay £1 per draw ticket - all draw tickets go straight into the gold covered shoe box and all £1's go straight into the POT OF GOLD. At the end of your event - the lucky winner drawn at random from the box wins ½ the POT OF GOLD (or a pre-specified %). As the POT OF GOLD requires no initial outlay and no fixed space it's a great money spinner and everyone parts with their £1 quite happily in the knowledge that they're not only benefiting your organisation but also stand to win a CASH sum.

| Fundraising with a Lonpos Challenge Why not have a Lonpos challenge?
What you need - two or more Lonpos 101 Pyramid and Rectangle games; a stopwatch; a leader board and a small prize (or two).
Choose two Lonpos problem levels (difficulty depending upon ages and ability of participants). Charge between 30p and 50p to play for up to 5 minutes - set a problem and start the timer. The challenge is to solve your problem as quickly as possible - fastest times are scored on a leader board and the winner(s) are those at the end with the quickest times.
This is a great way of getting children used to timing themselves whilst they problem solve. Brilliant for adults too.
